Davide Frasca in 2011 gets a master’s degree in sustainable architecture (Architecture, Energy and Sustainability) at the London Metropolitan University, UK.
In his master thesis he explores how earth architecture could be a solution for obtaining affordable and sustainable houses.
Davide took part in the construction of earth houses in Spain and Portugal and participated to a workshop on earth plastering in Italy.
In 2012 in India at the Auroville Earth Institute he learned how to build and design arches, domes and vaults using compressed earth bricks.
In 2013 he participated to a 3 months apprenticeship program at the Cal-Earth Institute (California) where he learned how to build earth domes using the superadobe technique. During the apprenticeship he built few domes and landscaping elements and assisted the teaching of the superadobe technique.
In 2014 he organized superadobe workshops and built domes in Tunisia and Kosovo. In the same year he partecipated to a 2 months course at the Cal-Earth Institute where he specialized in earth vault construcion using the superadobe technique.
In 2015 he assisted for a month project the master thatcher Alan Jones in the construction of a traditional thatch roof in Wales.
From 2016 he organizes superadobe workshop in Italy and from 2017 he collaborates with the Californian Institute of Earth Architecture (Cal-Earth) by organizing official Cal-Earth workshops in Italy.
At the moment Davide builds earth domes, organizes workshops and provides consultancy.
